VOLUNTEER DONATE

Red Rabbit Advocacy is a nonprofit that supports those experiencing homelessness and housing instability.

The organization was founded in 2021 by Jessica Velez, who lived in a trailer in Stockton for a few years before deciding to take action against homelessness. She reached out to Stockton’s mayor with her solutions and eventually became part of his committee while simultaneously working as a paralegal. Velez moved to full-time Red Rabbit work in 2022.

Red Rabbit Advocacy provides several services, including direct outreach to homeless encampments, connections to various resources that are made available by communicating with staff, case management that uses the SMART (Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Realistic, and Timed) model, eviction support, and court advocacy. Red Rabbit is also planning to offer financial literacy services soon.

Red Rabbit has forged several community partnerships, including involvement with Alpha Omega Ministries, Showered with Love Mobile Showers, Community Partnership for Families of San Joaquin, AMVETS, and Disabled American Veterans.
