The museum features exhibits that examine the history of Yolo County from its collection of 11,000 objects from 1830 to 1930.
The mansion, also known as the Gibson House, exemplifies several architectural styles, including Georgian Revival, Italianate and Neoclassical. It was listed in the National Register of Historic Places in 1976.
