The Demonstration Garden of the Placer County master gardeners will be the site of a Fall Open House on Saturday, Oct. 5, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The event coincides with the Fruit Shed Fest, formerly the Eggplant Festival, in downtown Loomis from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
During the Open House, the master gardeners are highlighting California natives, with a workshop on seed saving and planting of California native seeds as well as a demonstration of a native container planting. One completed container planting will be given away. Also on tap: information tables and children's activities. Miridae mobile nursery will be on site with native plants available for sale. Free admission.
