On Open Loomis Demonstration Garden Days, the 2nd Saturday of each month starting at 10 a.m., the Placer County master gardeners are on hand to answer questions. The Nov. 9 event, which runs to 12:30 p.m., will have a special focus on "Celebrating Citrus."
-- 10 a.m. – Demonstration on making citrus peel candy, presented by a UC Master Food Preserver; tastings and recipes will be provided.
-- Noon – "Citrus in Placer From Planting to Harvest," presented by Robert Bonk from Snow’s Citrus.
The Citrus Pest and Disease Prevention Program will staff an informational table in the garden throughout the day.
A companion workshop, "Creating Native Bee Habitats," will be presented in the Loomis Library from 10:30 – 11:30 a.m.
