The El Dorado County Firesafe Council provides education and training to help local communities prevent wildfires and protect their homes, communities, and natural environment.

On the website, residents of El Dorado County can find three programs under the “Assistance” tab that addresses fire safety in the area: Chipping, Defensible Space and Hazardous Tree. There are applications and information for these programs on their separate pages. These programs, along with information on wildfire evacuation, the community wildfire protection plan and the importance of hazardous fuel reduction, help protect the people of EI Dorado County and their property from the effects of catastrophic wildfire through education, cooperation, innovation and action.
