Susan Blankenship first successfully ran for the City of South Lake Tahoe City Clerk office in 2018 and more recently won the June 2022 primary. Before that, she was Assistant City Clerk for over two years.
In addition to being South Lake Tahoe's elections official, Blankenship is responsible for ensuring that all legislative matters are open and public; managing official meetings; maintaining the municipal code; providing notary services; and acting as filing officer for the State of California Fair Political Practices Commission Political Reform Act.
According to her LinkedIn page, Blankenship is a Certified Municipal Clerk, such certification issued by the International Institute of Municipal Clerks (IIMC), and a Notary Public for the State of California.
