Councilmember Scott Robbins, who was elected in the November 2022 election, says on his candidate website that he sought the office of city council to advocate for the locals.

He came to Lake Tahoe six years ago from the East Coast. After his first summer here, Robbins started volunteering as a way to give back to this community.

Robbins has worked with Tahoe Neighborhoods Group to pass Measure T, which eliminated vacation rentals in residential neighborhoods. He also volunteers with the El Dorado County Economic Development Advisory Committee, and the South Tahoe Bicycle Advisory Committee.

He’s also advocated extensively in opposition to the Loop Road, which would demolish the Rocky Point neighborhood, and displace local families, all to better speed tourists to the Nevada casinos. Robbins has regularly engaged with the City Council and written on a wide range of local issues including over-tourism, and for reforming police protocols for handling of sexual assault victims.

Notable quote: “I’ll continue to do the best I can to advocate for the needs of locals first in local government.” (Source: Tahoe Daily Tribune)

Council assignments include the following: California Tahoe Conservancy (alternate), League of Califoria Cities—Sacramento Valley Division, El Dorado County Transportation Commission (alternate)
