A lifelong resident of El Dorado County, Brooke Laine is a small busines owner and a professional in the banking industry. The former South Lake Tahoe mayor has accumulated 10 years of experience as a publicly elected official.
Laine won her November 2022 supervisorial race with a 58.32% margin. In her candidate press page, she says “she understands the diversity of District V and will work to represent the issues that are important: fire and public safety, health care, insurance cancellations, infrastructure improvements, climate change, housing, traffic, vacation home rental enforcement, tourism, snow removal, and other issues as they arise.”
Laine’s economics degree is from University of California, Santa Cruz.
In addition to the city of South Lake Tahoe, District V includes the following communities: Tahoma, Meeks Bay, Fallen Leaf, Meyers, Strawberry, Twin Bridges, Kyburz, Phillips, Whitehall, and Pollock Pines.
