Founded in Texas back in 1929, LULAC is the oldest Hispanic civil rights organization in the United States.

LULAC operates in more than half of the states around the country, with more than 30 councils in California alone. In the Monterey Bay Area, this 501(c)4 organization has councils in North Monterey County, the city of Monterey, the city of Salinas, and the Salinas Valley.
