For more than 25 years, Marina had a Public Safety Department with police and fire services combined, but now has its own separate police and fire divisions. The Police Department has 30 sworn officers: the chief of police, three lieutenants, six sergeants, and 20 officers. The 10 non-sworn support personnel are one administrative assistant, one records supervisor, two records technicians, one evidence technician, one part-time training coordinator, and four community service officers.
