Have you ever taken a ski or snowboard lesson and wondered how qualified the instructor was?

Well, Tahoe ski resorts can assure you that all instructors under their employment have been certified through the PSIA (the Professional Ski Instructors of America) and/or the AASI (American Association of Snowboard Instructors) via a training program that has been in place since 1961.

In the years following its inception, the PSIA-AASI organization has continued to develop effective skiing and riding techniques to coincide with the innovative ski and snowboard technology regularly introduced into the market. Its snow sports instruction programs are fun, informative, and fulfilling, comprised of a variety of events that cover skiing/riding mechanics, teaching methodology, children’s programs, women-specific workshops, and how to teach overall personal improvement skills.

The Western division of the PSIA-AASI is headquartered in Truckee, serving the California and Nevada Tahoe basin regions. Its three levels of certification cover four different disciplines of snow sports including: alpine, Nordic, snowboarding, and adaptive skiing for freestyle skiers/snowboarders, children, and seniors.
