Truckee Tahoe Community Chorus

PO Box 10756, Truckee, CA 96162

Supporting local singers by building, promoting, and nurturing vocal music programs, the Truckee Tahoe Community Chorus hosts two annual concert series that feature music from a range of genres, such as classical, Broadway, and contemporary hits.

Calling itself the “World’s Best Community Chorus Over 6,000 Feet,” this nonprofit group also puts on an original production called the Truckee Historic Revue. The 50-member vocal group meets every week at Sierra College in Truckee to rehearse music and learn new vocal techniques, directed by Brittney May. In addition to concerts, TTCC also performs by invitation for local organizations, community groups, and churches, including regular caroling engagements around the Christmas holiday.

Another goal of Truckee Tahoe Community Chorus is to support local youths and college-bound singers with scholarships that allow them to pursue music education and be involved with the Youth Chorus. Formed in 2013, the Youth Chorus has taught almost 300 young singers stage choreography, vocal technique and reading music, along with giving them opportunities to perform.

The diverse and eclectic Truckee Tahoe Community Chorus continues to exist thanks to the generous donations and support from local businesses and fellow community members.
