A fourth-generation Santa Claran, Lisa Gillmor fully embraced family tradition in two ways: joining the family business—real estate company Gillmore and Associations—and securing a place of influence in local politics. Like her father, Gillmor serves as mayor of Santa Clara. She was appointed in 2016 and then elected to the seat in 2018.  In 2022, she pulled out a narrow lead over challenger Anthony Becker to retain her seat as mayor.
