Ben Brown was appointed to the Lincoln City Council when no other candidates emerged before the filing period closed on Aug. 12, 2022. The council voted 4-1 to install Brown as the successor to outgoing Councilmember Alyssa Silhi when her term ended in 2022. The Lincoln News Messenger reported on the council’s action, noting that a staff report confirmed no one currently serving on the council resides in District 2. Although there was no election held, candidate Brown received an endorsement from the California Republican Party, along with District 1 Councilmember Holly Andreatta, who was also appointed to the council when no candidates emerged by the August deadline.

It’s the holiday season once more, and downtown Lincoln will again come alive with a parade and tree lighting.The thousands of Lincoln and area residents who attend the event will see significant improvements this year. Most importantly, the former one-day event will be split into two distinct programs: the tree-lighting ceremony on Thursday, Dec. 5, and the Hometown Christmas Parade on Saturday, Dec 7.
Voters will decide between four candidates for one open seat on the Lincoln City Council within District 3 on Election Day, Nov. 5.
