Back in 2003, the Auburn City Council officially bestowed on Auburn the tagline “Endurance Capital of the World.” To keep up the city’s decades-long tradition of hosting endurance competitions (find out more in this FAQ), the council created the Endurance Capital Committee. This nine-member group promotes Auburn as a destination point for endurance and outdoor activities, showcases current activities and seeks to attract new events, and supports the physical health and economic wellbeing of Auburn. The committee meets on the third Wednesday of each month at 4 p.m. on Zoom.
