Jayna Karpinski-Costa has lived in Citrus Heights since 1991 and is married to Ted Costa, who was instrumental in the recall of Gray Davis. She is both a lawyer and veterinarian, with her current focus on her private practice administering both acupuncture and traditional medicine to animals. She has represented and defended policies in both local courts and the United States Supreme Court, and she brings both her legal knowledge and deep California roots to the council. Karpinski-Costa has been the organizer of the Senior Health and Resource Fair for 11 years, and volunteers for Meals on Wheels as well as various children’s causes in the region.
