VOLUNTEER DONATE

Environmental Volunteers promotes understanding of and responsibility for the environment through hands-on science education.

Environmental Volunteers was started in 1972 by a group of women concerned about preserving the San Francisco Bay ecosystem for future generations. Believing that children who learn to appreciate nature will protect it, they began offering field trips for children to explore and experiment with natural resources.

Since then, more than 400,000 children and adults have participated in programs. Environmental Volunteers partners with cities, including Palo Alto, East Palo Alto, and Redwood City, to provide engaging, hands-on environmental science education. The group also runs an EcoCenter where children can interact with touchscreen displays, nature exhibits, binoculars and bird guides, and other tools.
