Ron Owes is a licensed civil engineer with BSCE and MSCE degrees from the University of Washington in Seattle. According to his biography on the City of Palo Alto website, his master’s degree was in the environmental engineering division. For more than 40 years, Owes has practiced as a principal on civil and environmental engineering projects that have included planning, design and construction services for wastewater conveyance and treatment facilities, solid waste landfills and transfer facilities, and environmental remediation. His career has included a stint in the White House in the Office of Emergency Preparedness in the Office of the President. His work included making recommendations to modify the stockpile program to include resource recovery and recycling. He presently resides in Palo Alto, California.
