Commission members serve in an advisory capacity to the Town Council regarding the human service needs of the community. They receive public input, evaluate options, and make recommendations on policy issues, including the coordination of community services programs between the Town and other agencies, and evaluation of community health needs. The Commission also makes recommendations to the Town Council concerning the annual Community Grants Program. (Enabling Resolution)

The Commission consists of seven voting members. Six adult members are appointed by the council for three-year terms. The seventh is a youth commissioner, appointed by the Youth Commission, whose term of office is one year with no limitations on reappointments.

Meetings are held in the Town Council Chambers, 110 E Main St., on the fourth Tuesday of the month at 5:50 p.m.
