VOLUNTEER DONATE

Much of the rich history of the Central California Coast is in the devoted hands of the Monterey County Historical Society.

The nonprofit preserves and restores such important buildings as the 1898 William H. Weeks House and 1897 Lagunita Schoolhouse, which John Steinbeck wrote about in The Red Pony. The group welcomes researchers to dive into its enormous and ever-growing collection of documents and offers more than 30,000 reproductions of historic photographs for sale.
