The group provides space and vital support for the homeless and under-sheltered.

Headquartered at the Church of the Mountains on 10214 High Street in Truckee, North Tahoe-Truckee Homeless Services has recently partnered with AMI Housing Inc. to be able to offer its most valuable programs in the long run, including its transitional housing, case management, homeless support services, and its Day Respite Center and Emergency Warming Center.

Open Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 10 a.m.-2 p.m., the Emergency Day Respite Center in the Veterans Hall of the church offers those who need it a place to shelter, take a shower, have a meal, and receive any necessities and counseling services they need.

According to its Season 5 Impact Report, North Tahoe-Truckee Homeless Services provided 314 nights of shelter during the 2019-20 winter season to 52 guests. Its Day Respite Center was open 75 days where 89 people received warm breakfasts and lunches for a total of more than 1600 meals. Several guests left testimonials about how this service helped them get back on their feet and allowed them to stay alive when no other options were available.
