The Planning Commission, consisting of seven members appointed by the Woodland City Council, conducts hearings and makes recommendations to the council on matters related to planning, land use and historical preservation. The commission also assists in developing, implementing, and maintaining the city’s community design standards, general plan and specific plans, and other land use ordinances.

The commission’s long list of responsibilities includes the following, and much more: making recommendations to the City Council on proposed development agreements, reviewing conditional use permits and variances, hear appeals to zoning decisions and, reviewing the annual capital improvement program budget, and undertaking a comprehensive historic resources inventory.

Meets the first and third Thursday of the month at 6:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers on the second floor at 300 First St, Woodland.
