VOLUNTEER DONATE

A nonprofit organization founded in 2013, Community Seva serves meals to anyone in need. With 2,000-plus volunteers, the group has provided more than 80,000 meals and 5,000 care bags, including hygiene items, to the homeless.

Community Seva founder Nathan Ganeshan was inspired by his own family to provide necessities to the less fortunate. His son once asked him, “Dad, what about homeless people? Who will feed them today?” His son’s questions inspired Ganeshan to bring like-minded people together to assist the homeless.

The organization has a simple mission and it is to feed the hungry and serve the homeless in their local communities. Not only is Community Seva known for providing meals, it also offers mobile showers, laundry services, and a backpack with winter essentials such as blankets that are donated by volunteers and supporters. A young nonprofit organization, Community Seva has its eye on the future. According to its mission statement, “We aim to empower children, the future citizens of our world, to learn empathy and participate by making a difference that they can see.”
