 responded to numerous reports of burglary, vandalism, and suspicious activity in the Lexington Hills area. Social media posts from residents also described a suspicious individual frequenting homes in the neighborhood.</p>
<p>Investigators collected video evidence that was shared across the department. A patrol officer recognized the suspect from previous encounters, identifying him by his distinct tattoos. This key piece of information was passed along to the department’s Special Investigations Unit (SIU).</p>
<p>Thursday afternoon, SIU detectives served a search warrant at a residence on the 1100 block of Blue Ravine Road. They arrested 30-year-old Matthew Harris of Folsom. Harris was booked at the Sacramento County Main Jail on charges of felony burglary, vandalism, and petty theft. Specifically, he faces two counts of burglary under California Penal Code 459, one count of vandalism under PC 594(A), and three counts of petty theft under PC 488.</p>
<p>“This is just one example of how the many units within our agency work together to solve cases,” the Folsom Police Department said in a statement. “Based on the circumstances of this investigation, we believe there may be other victims. If you see this person on your home security cameras, please reach out to our communications center at 916-355-7231.”</p>
<p>Authorities are urging any residents who may have footage of Harris to come forward to assist in the investigation.</p>

![Image for display with article titled Commentary: Retired Educator Supports Folsom’s Measure G](<p>As a retired teacher, high school principal, and former Assistant Superintendent for the Folsom Cordova Unified School District, I understand the importance of creating a safe and supportive environment for our children and families. I am writing today in strong support of Measure G, which proposes a modest one percent sales tax increase to ensure that the City of Folsom has adequate funding for essential services, including public safety, parks, trails, and road and sidewalk improvements.</p>
<p>Having lived and raised a family in this wonderful community, I know firsthand how vital these resources are for maintaining our quality of life. Ensuring that our police and fire departments are adequately funded is critical to keeping Folsom a safe place to live, work, and raise children. A well-resourced public safety system provides peace of mind for all residents and is the backbone of a thriving community.</p>
<p>Equally important are the parks and trails that offer our children space to learn, grow, and develop life skills as well as the arts and cultural amenities that make Folsom so distinctive. These assets are essential not only for their physical well-being but for fostering a balanced perspective as they mature into strong adults who will one day give back to our community.</p>
<p>Measure G is a practical step toward securing the future of Folsom. It will help ensure that the city continues to be a place where families can thrive, and where our children have the opportunity to prosper in a safe, vibrant community.</p>
