Putah Creek Council defends the watershed of Putah Creek through education and outreach programs.
The Council spun off from the conservation committee of the Davis Audubon Society (currently the Yolo Audubon Society) in 1988 with the objective of uniting individuals who wished to express their admiration for Putah Creek’s remarkable riparian and wetland habitat, and to raise awareness about essential conservation and habitat enhancement efforts. The group promotes the well-being of regional ecosystems by engaging in advocacy, education, and community-driven stewardship initiatives. Their work has transformed a dried-up creek bed into the flourishing and vibrant community resource that exists today.
