The Placer Veterans Stand Down assists veterans from all walks of life. Its mission is to serve local veterans and their families with “resources to give them a hand up, not a hand out.”
At the group’s Stand Down event, held once a year (when not disrupted by the pandemic), veterans can receive medical services, employment assistance, and access to counseling and rehabilitation services. Food is also served.
Beyond the annual Stand Down, this organization also provides veterans with valuable resources year round. This includes access to a 24/7 Veteran Crisis Hotline that can be called when a veteran or their family members need to speak to someone and find help immediately.
