VOLUNTEER

Ready is a national public service campaign designed to educate families and children on being prepared for emergencies. Participants learn how to respond and mitigate emergencies, including natural and man-made disasters.

Four things individuals should do to stay prepared:

  1. Stay informed about different type of emergencies and the appropriate response.
  2. Make family emergency plans.
  3. Build emergency supply kits.
  4. Get involved in your community.

In a state of emergency, individuals tend to forget what to do; thus, having emergency plans and kits ready prepares families and children to act fast. Ready’s website provides information about toolkits and procedures individuals can take when disasters and emergencies occur.

During this COVID-19 pandemic, Ready is helping viewers stay informed about current events and providing resources for children to stay involved while at home.
