Formed in 1982 by a collective of actors, this long-running community theater company puts on theatrical performances featuring and tailored to people living in the San Lorenzo Valley, Santa Cruz County, and beyond.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, MCT grappled with the problem of being unable to present live performances by creating digital productions under the banner of MCT Presents Ghost Light Theater. The company explains the fitting name: a “ghost light” is a light, often a single bulb on a stand, that illuminates the stage when the theater is dark—i.e., when no production is being presented.
