California Bicycle Coalition (CalBike) is an organization based in Sacramento that seeks to expand cycling in the United States. The group advocates for “equitable, inclusive, and prosperous communities where bicycling helps to enable all Californians to lead healthy and joyful lives.”
CalBike aims to provide access to a safer and healthier way of transportation for all citizens. The following are its four goals:
Current CalBike projects and resources include Central Valley Bikeway Project, which is established to increase bike access in different communities; Complete Street Campaign, which fights for a safer and more comfortable environment for individuals to bike, walk, or ride public transit; and Community Bike Shops, where individuals can go for repairs, maintenance, and affordable mobility options.
