For more than 40 years, the non-profit Grey Bears has worked to help seniors live a healthier life and improve the environment.
Its core programs include delivering weekly healthy food to nearly 4,000 seniors in the county, operating three recycling centers to the general public, and running a thrift store, electronics/computer store, hardware store and bookstore. The organization accepts volunteers and donations.
Dozens of volunteers at Grey Bears were busy around two long tables making packages to be delivered to seniors throughout Santa Cruz County.
These nonprofits offer help to those who need it most.
After 12 years at the helm of Grey Bears, executive director Tim Brattan will be retiring from his position by the end of 2022.
