The commission counsels the Board of Supervisors on wise utilization, conservation, research, education and management of Nevada County’s fish and wildlife resources. Commissioners also assist in the allocation of State Department of Fish and Game funds. Each county supervisor appoints one of the five members, with no more than two members from any one supervisorial district.
Regular meetings are on the first Tuesday of February, April, June, August, October, and December. All meetings convene at 6 p.m.
