The Nevada County Sheriff’s Office provides law enforcement and animal control services for the unincorporated areas of the county. Additionally, the office provides coroner and public administrator duties, correctional facilities, and civil process service for the whole county. The undersheriff oversees the administrative captain, the operations captain, the corrections captain, and the chief fiscal officer.
