Appointed to complete the term of retiring Clerk-Recorder-Registrar Jim McCauley in 2016, Ryan Ronco was officially elected to the position in 2018. He told Roseville Today, “It is an honor to serve the citizens of Placer County in this capacity. This is my community; my home. To have this opportunity to be elevated to the pinnacle of my profession here in Placer County is a true privilege.” Previously, Ronco had been serving as assistant recorder-registrar since 2005.
According to his campaign site, Ronco earned his bachelor’s degree in government from California State University, Sacramento in 1991 and was a writer/researcher for a local taxpayers’ watchdog organization until 1993, when he joined the Placer County Clerk-Recorder/Elections Department as an elections technician.
