Appointed by the Board of Supervisors, the Parks and Recreation Commission includes one representative from each of the five supervisorial districts, each of whom serve four-year terms. The commission advises the board on many matters, including the county’s master plan for parks, recreation and open space; the preservation of the historic, cultural and natural resources; and the annual budget for parks, open space and cultural services.
Commission meetings are scheduled at least quarterly on Monday evenings. The commission may call for special public meetings in order to timely conduct commission business. During the COVID-19 pandemic, check meeting agendas for information on how to attend remotely.
