The Monterey Peninsula Chamber of Commerce is a nonprofit corporation that helps local companies succeed and promotes the region’s economic growth.
Established as the Monterey Chamber of Commerce in 1908, and later expanded to encompass all nearby cities, MPCC consists of more than 600 business owners, managers, professionals, and other members who represent more than 50,000 full-time employees in such industries as financial insurance, real estate, retail, entertainment, food and beverage, healthcare, and nonprofits.
The chamber provides members with referrals, advertising and networking opportunities, and access to elected officials. The chamber also offers resources to the community, including information on small business loans, state grants, and job fairs.
Along with the Salinas Valley and Monterey Peninsula chambers of commerce, United Way Monterey County, recently hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony for its new center in downtown Salinas.
