Greg Caput served on the Santa Cruz County Board of Supervisors for the entirety of the previous decade. First elected in 2010, Caput has represented the more rural and agriculture-based segment of Santa Cruz County, which includes the city of Watsonville. Caput was born and raised in Watsonville, cutting lettuce in the summer to make his first dollars. He served in the Army Reserve National Guard for eight years beginning in 1970. Caput founded and continues to manage a painting company. He served as a youth outreach coordinator in Medellin, Colombia, at one point. Before his election to the Board of Supervisors, Caput served four years on the Watsonville City Council, beginning in 2006. Greg and his wife, Carmen, have five children.

Supervisor Caput’s Watsonville office is in the Veterans Memorial Building, 215 E Beach St. Hours are Tue. 1-5 p.m., Thu.-Fri. 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Constituents can also meet with him the third Wednesday of the month from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the Sheriff’s South County Service Center, 790 Green Valley Road, Watsonville.
