The California Association of Veteran Service Agencies is a consortium of seven nonprofit veteran service providers.
With California home to more veterans than any other state in the U.S., CAVSA combines powers to provide the best resources and opportunities available. They work directly with veterans to advocate for accessible services and support. Through CAVSA, veterans can find information on housing programs, mental health services, employment and training, and a veterans crisis line that’s available 24 hours a day.
CAVSA delivers direct services throughout the state from Eureka to San Diego. Thr organization has helped nearly 10,000 veterans access mental health services by guiding them through the VA healthcare benefit process. Many veterans are unaware of their eligibility to have mental health care covered, and programs like CAVSA provide the appropriate education and guidance to work toward doing so. This organization also has a focus on suicide prevention in both rural and urban areas of California.
