Sacramento Regional Coalition to End Homelessness

The goal of the Sacramento Regional Coalition to End Homelessness is to eliminate homelessness in the region through education, policy changes, and on-the-ground work.

The Sacramento Regional Coalition to End Homelessness was founded in July 2013.

Founder Bob Erlenbusch met with key members of the community to form an executive board capable of bringing change in regard to the growing homeless population in the Sacramento region. Those working with the coalition include formerly homeless individuals, attorneys, healthcare workers. and currently homeless youth. They also work with housing advocates, faith leaders, and service providers.

The coalition started with just a $7,500 grant and a dream to reduce homelessness in the region. 

The team is currently focusing on a number of issues for 2022: 

• Economic justice 
• Education for homeless youth 
• Health equity 
• Homeless civil rights
• Environmental justice 
• Housing justice 
• Providing the homeless with the rights and resources to vote 

There are several ways to help the coalition tackle these issues, such as serving on the board, becoming a monthly donor, writing to local legislators, and volunteering for the organization's events and outreach efforts.
