Black Womxn United exists to pave the way for all black women and girls to thrive and have equal opportunities in the world they live.
Black Womxn United was founded in 2017 by three women who went on to create the first Black women’s march in the region—just one month after their first-ever meeting. Since that time, BWU has become not only a local force but also a statewide and nationwide difference maker for many women of color.
Together with an army of passionate volunteers, BWU provides safe spaces for all Black women, regardless of their background, promoting sisterhood within the community while also working toward unity and equality outside of it.
There are plenty of ways to volunteer. BWU is always seeking out people to work in administration and infrastructure, including virtual/remote opportunities. There is also need for graphic designers, social media managers, event coordinators, and day-of event volunteers. And BWU has an annual event planning committee that can always benefit from fresh ideas and great minds aimed toward positive change.
