A program of the Tahoe Truckee Community Foundation, the Community Collaborative brings together more than 45 health, education, and social service organizations and coalitions.
Since its inception the program has coalesced more than 45 health, social service and education organizations together to ensure philanthropic dollars are spent efficiently and the organizations are privy to the most urgent issues facing the community. The program works with the foundation to formulate strategy, collaboratively fundraise, effectively evaluate program efficacy and disseminate reports about salient issues. The organization founded its OTV Leadership program four years ago and has had 35 nonprofit leaders graduate through its program. The collaborative holds a monthly meeting and works to make sure there is a unified voice in a community with a fragmented jurisdictional approach to governance—with four public bodies and 17 special districts in the region.
