Growth Factory

Growth Factory is a nonprofit that supports startups from the greater Sacramento area. Its motto is “building great startups together.”

More specifically, the organization’s mission is to accelerate promising businesses still in their early stages and is rooted in the belief that a great company cannot be built in isolation. Entrepreneurs and teams are encouraged to fill out applications if they believe they have a product of value that is at the minimum viable product stage or beyond, and they have one or more full-time founder. If their application is accepted, teams work with Growth Factory to develop individualized action plans, learn important skills, and network with experts, peers, and customers to build toward a goal of $1 million in annual recurring revenue within a year and a half.

Current initiatives under Growth Factory include Roseville Rising, a cohort-based program partnering with Roseville small businesses, and Build Up Rocklin, a program offering mentorship and grants for businesses in the city of Rocklin. The nonprofit also created Roseville Rising for High School Students, where students will brainstorm problems, develop innovative business solutions over the course of four months, and conclude by presenting their ideas at a showcase. This will encourage students to advance their entrepreneurial skills and inspire the next generation of business people.

Growth Factory also boasts a community of successful founders, mentors, partners, investors, and corporations called the Backyard Advantage. Members of the Backyard Advantage help guide and support new startups with their prior experience. Applications to join the team are on the website.
