Placerville & Sacramento Valley Railroad

Placerville & Sacramento Valley Railroad is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that provides train rides through the valley as a means to preserve California’s rich railroad history.

The mission of Placerville & Sacramento Valley Railroad is to protect and preserve the Folsom-Placerville railroad. The nonprofit group does this by celebrating its legacy through the operation of a community heritage railroad. 

Scenic train excursions and motorcar rides operate year round over the 15 miles of track between Folsom and Latrobe, otherwise known as the Southern Pacific Railroad’s Placerville Branch. This historic route includes the foothills of the Sierra Nevada range.
