The Law and Legislation Committee is a standing committee of the Sacramento City Council. The purposes of the Law and Legislation Committee are to consider, evaluate, conduct fact-finding, and recommend to council positions on proposed city ordinances and non-binding resolutions. The Law and Legislation Committee has the authority to take positions on behalf of the city on state and federal legislation.
