The authority's goal is promote animal adoption and educate the public on how to improve society’s treatment of animals. One measure of its success: In 2016, the overall live release rate of animals handled by authority was 94 percent.

SVACA not only provides the best for rescued animals, it also creates a wonderful experience for individuals who adopt. The group strives to find “perfect” matches for pet owners and pets, ensuring that animals remain in their new homes for the rest of their lives and bring happiness to their owners. Animal lovers play an important role by serving as volunteers, foster parents, and donors. It is with their help that SVACA is able to achieve its goals.
