Resource Area for Teaching focuses on teaching sustainability through hands-on learning in schools. RAFT works with educators to integrate student-led activities that encourage learning about the environment.
RAFT creates and supplies low-cost teaching materials to more than 600,000 students per year. The group seeks to create lessons that spark joy and curiosity while also bringing awareness to environmental issues. Activities focus on important concepts in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) as well as languages and art.
Dedicated to supporting educators inside and outside of classrooms, RAFT provides educator resources such as activity sheets, project kits, teaching tip sheets, and more. The group also operates its Green Room, which is stocked with learning supplies and equipment. During the pandemic, the Green Room is open by appointment and all workstations and counters will be disinfected after use.
