IN PUBLIC SECTOR___Valley Transportation Authority provides sustainable, accessible, community-focused transportation options throughout Santa Clara County.

Among the innovative, environmentally responsible modes of transportation it oversees are bus routes, the light rail system, and paratransit services. VTA participates as a funding partner in regional rail service, including Caltrain, the Capital Corridor, and the Altamont Corridor Express.

It is also a congestion management agency, responsible for countywide transportation planning—including highway, pedestrian, and bicycle projects—as well as promotion of transit-oriented development.
