VOLUNTEER DONATE
Our City Forest aims to cultivate a green, healthy, and sustainable living environment for residents within Silicon Valley. To achieve this goal, the organization creates events that teach the community to protect the urban environment.
Founded in 1994, Our City Forest maintains this core mission: “We believe in the power of trees to turn our neighborhoods and cities from gray to green, and we believe in the power of people to help achieve this transformation.” For this transformation to occur, Our City Forest educates the public on appreciation, protection, and growth and maintenance of urban ecosystems.
There are volunteer opportunities for people who are interested in physical gardening, and online blogs and activities for those who like to stay engaged in the comfort of their own homes.
Our City Forest also has its own community nursery, home to thousands of native plants. Visitors can purchase trees and small plants from the nursery while attending expert-led workshops. The nursery is located at 1000 Spring St, San Jose.
