Tara Sreekrishnan joined the county board on Sept. 1, 2021, as an appointee to fill the seat left vacant when Kathleen King resigned in June 2021. She has professional public policy and community outreach experience at the city, county, and state government levels, and is currently serving as deputy chief of staff to state Sen. Dave Cortese.​​
A graduate of Mills College, she attended K-12 public schools in Trustee Area 2, which includes school districts in Cupertino, Los Gatos, Saratoga, and small portions of Santa Clara and Sunnyvale.
Sreekrishnan has built up experience on several nonprofit boards, and she is the co-founder of the nonprofit Silicon Valley Youth Climate Action, which empowers students in Santa Clara County to combat climate change through education and policy initiatives.​
