The Building Department is responsible for business licenses, code enforcement, construction inspection, permit issuance and the employee housing program. The city is working to make application and inspection services available online, but at present inspections are scheduled by phone.

Builders and contractors should be aware that CalGreen building standards supersede those of the city. To ensure that a project is in compliance with those standards, visit the California Building Standards Commission website.
