When six candidates ran for Colfax City Council seats in November 2022, two incumbents were reelected along with third-place vote-getter Kim A. Douglass. But the retired computer consultant was no stranger to the office, having previously served for two terms.
Raised in Pennsylvania, Douglass moved to the Bay Area to work in the computer software industry. The parent of a daughter, he has been active with the school board and has coached soccer and baseball. The newly elected council member says he plans to “work with business owners, service organizations and local government committees to establish ongoing family events, concerts, and festivals.”
Notable quote: “We currently have five council members and all five are employed leaving them little time for creative pro-active programs. Studies show that the best councils have a mix of retired and those who have full time jobs.” (Source: Gold Country Media)
